The Occupation
The objective was to craft a compelling marketing website for The Occupation, a gripping first-person, fixed-time investigative thriller set in North West England on October 24th, 1987. This meticulously detailed world places players in the role of a relentless journalist, where every second counts, and every action carries weight.
To capture the game’s high-stakes atmosphere, the website was designed to immerse visitors in its tense, politically charged world. Rich textures, period-authentic aesthetics, and cinematic compositions were employed to reflect the late-‘80s setting, evoking the paranoia and urgency that define The Occupation. Every design element was carefully curated to mirror the game’s dynamic, systems-driven narrative—where the world reacts organically to the player’s choices, and the truth is never black and white, hence the choice of colours and heavy redaction.
By seamlessly blending storytelling, visual intrigue, and interactive elements, the website serves as more than just a promotional tool—it’s an invitation to step into a world where journalism is a race against time, and every decision can alter the course of history.
